Be Responsible for YOUR Dog(s)

"Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" ūüź∂ Dogs and Tyrone Township If you've ever attended a Tyrone Homeowner's Association meeting, chances are good that the topic of "Dogs" was discussed. TWO FACTS: 1. Residents are allowed to own up to two dogs in Tyrone, with pet ownership regulations VERY CLEARLY spelled out in our Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions (CC&Rs) that all residents must comply with. 2. Dogs bark. Dogs poop. BARKING DOGS: If someone walks on the sidewalk and a dog is at home or in its fenced rear yard, most dogs will bark for a while...thirty seconds, maybe a minute or so. That is "what they do", and besides being a loving companion, they provide some residents with a security by alerting them to that stranger. But what is NOT acceptable is the continuous or on-off, annoying barking of a dog(s) to disturb your neighbors. That dog owner's particular circumstances...out working, out shopping, away for the weekend...doesn't really matter. And it doesn't matter if it's 11am or 11pm. You DON'T have the right to disturb your neighbor's peaceful enjoyment. Your dog is YOUR responsibility. POOPING DOGS: Does this REALLY need to be spelled out? Apparently so. The Association recently installed SIX (6) "Poop Stations" with bags for your dog's poop. There are trash or disposal bins nearby, as well. PICK UP and then DISPOSE PROPERLY! Nobody wants to step in your dog's poop, or have their dog sniff your dog's poop while on a walk, or even LOOK at your dog's poop! It is inconsiderate. It is unsanitary. It is rude. It is disgusting! Clear enough? This is not a "dog owners vs. non-dog owners" issue. Responsible dog owners are just as annoyed at constant barking and unpicked-up poop as anybody else. It is an issue of RESPONSIBILITY -- for YOUR dog, and TO your neighbors. You can choose to be a responsible dog owner, or monetary penalties can force you to be a responsible dog owner -- PLEASE CHOOSE TO BE RESPONSIBLE.
